Regularly Scheduled Board Meetings

Thank you for your interest in learning more about the Oak Park School District Board of Education. We encourage you to join us at our Board of Education meetings. We highly value the input from our school district community.

Our regular Board of Education meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month on the following dates unless otherwise specified.

Our regular Board of Education meetings convene at 6:00 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) and will be held in the Administration Building Board Room at 13900 Granzon St. Oak Park, MI. 48237(unless otherwise noted).

If any person with a disability or in need of accommodations at a Board of Education meeting, please contact the Superintendent's Office at 248.336.7705 at least seven days prior to meeting date. For information, you may also call 248.336.7700

All meetings of a public body, including Board of Education meetings must be open to the public and must be held in a place open to the public.

Beginning January 1, 2022, all Board of Education members are required to attend regular Board of Education meetings in person. Please Note: virtual participation is only permitted due to military duty. As a result, OPS Board of Education meetings will no longer include a hybrid meeting format (in person and virtual). The public is required to make public comment in person at the regular Board of Education meetings.

During the months of December, May, July and August, there is only one regular Board of Education meeting scheduled.

Due to winter break, there is only one meeting held in December.
Due to the observance of Memorial Day, there is only one meeting held in May.

Special Board Meetings

At times throughout the school year, there are times when the Board of Education holds "special meetings". These will be listed below:

Special meeting called by the Board for a specific purpose or location changes will be posted eighteen hours (18) hours before the time of such meeting on the district’s website.

There will be no second meeting in December. (Christmas Break)
There is only one meeting in May due to (Memorial Day).
There is only one meeting during July and August.

The Board has established an alternate Monday of each month as the date for any Special Meetings that might be needed. Notices regarding meeting location changes, meeting rescheduling, or special meeting, shall be posted on the bulletin board at the schools and in the Administrative Offices.
