Community Service

Community Service

All Oak Park students complete 40 community service hours as a requirement for graduation. Students seek out a non-profit community organization for volunteer work experience. Students have the opportunity to grow personally, gain satisfaction from helping others, and explore a future career through their volunteer work. Students do not receive any transportation or monetary compensation nor do they receive any early release time connected to community service hours. Hour sheets must be submitted upon completion. Credit will be granted after all signed documentation of hours are verified. The Community Service form must be completed within two weeks after the 40 hour requirement is met. A maximum of .5 elective credits may be earned by any student who completes the Community Service requirement. Twelfth grade students must have all hours submitted by May 1st of their senior year.
