Oak Park Preparatory Academy 8th Grader Saves a Life with Quick Thinking
Oak Park Preparatory Academy is incredibly proud to recognize 8th grader Richard Blackwell for his heroic actions during a recent medical emergency. Richard's swift and decisive actions saved a man's life, demonstrating remarkable courage and presence of mind.
While at a car wash in Clinton Township, Richard noticed a man on the ground experiencing cardiac arrest. Without hesitation, he flagged down nearby police officers and alerted his cousin, who then performed CPR on the man. Thanks to Richard's quick thinking and prompt response, the man survived the critical situation.
Principal Douglass Eiland praised Richard for his actions, stating, "Richard is a very well-liked young man, always very helpful to our staff and students. We are so proud of his quick thinking; he's a hero!"
Richard's bravery and quick response serve as an inspiration to all of us at Oak Park Preparatory Academy. His actions remind us of the importance of staying calm under pressure and helping others in need.
